Topic: Feature Requests / Section for notes

We experimented with a sticky note feature internally for making notes on books, but we never released it. Would you like sticky notes? What would be the most important part of a feature like this for you?

Thank you for the suggestion!

Topic: Feature Requests / Section for notes

I would like to see a section where I can list notes and “remembers” for myself on what I had in mind to put where. Can this feature be added?

Is there a way the guests (contributors) can view the cover of the book?

My friend did a book where they included chapters named after places the couple lived. Then children wrote memories and posted photos about those specific places. The family had traveled a lot and so that kind of book made sense.

The book we did for my grandparents was organized around the 6 children and each families memories. That worked well for us. Best to you on your new book.

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Does anyone even post here anymore?

Yes – and all the links to the blog lead to a dead end. I have a lot of questions and will call Monday morning, but the fact that there are few postings and that the “delete picture feature” is still not active after a year is causing me concern. I am having difficulty navigating the site and worry that family I have invited will not be able to contribute to the efforts because it is too hard to figure out.

    Topic: Feature Requests / Requests?

We haven’t had any feature requests in awhile? Anybody find something they really need?

I know some things I’d like.

    Global Spell Check
A black line border around photos – that can be turned off or on. This would be so nice with photos that have light or white backgrounds.

I’m sure I can think of more, but I’d love to hear from you.

Topic: System Annoucements / System Announcements

Today a customer complained that our site seemed outdated because we haven’t posted any system announcements in the last year. I think that’s actually a really good sign. The only time we’ve had to post announcements was in case of major troubles.

Since I don’t have anything to report, I’d like to make a system announcement thanking all our customers for being so amazing. I love getting to talk to each of you via phone or email, and hearing all about the great projects you’re working on.

If you need help with anything, want suggestions, or just need reassurance that you’re doing a great job, please call or email me.

Can’t wait to hear about the next project!

There are VERY few postings in any of the forums, and almost none from the FamilyLearn staff. The latest system announcement was a year ago! I’m starting to wonder whether I should have purchased this software at all… the website seems almost forgotten and haunted, with broken links everywhere and error messages on nearly every page I load. There are supposed to be insturctional videos, but all you get is a description, with nothing you can click to start them. Very discouraging…

Could you give us more information? I looked into your book and found you have 9 copies of the same entry. Is this the entry you are having trouble saving? I see that particular entry repeated on pages 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19. Is it possible you just didn’t see it the first time you entered it?

I’ve tried several times in the last 3 days to add a memory to my book. I have both typed the addition into the memory area and I have cut/pasted it from Word. All that happens is it says “loading”. I have waited for an hour just to see if it would “load”. The addition NEVER gets loaded. What is going on? I have the current Firefox and Adobe.

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Custom Pages?

    Hello,

I have run out of the original photo pages that were put in my book, and have lots more pictures to add. I’ve been through the help menu and it seems there should be button to add custom photo pages, however, I can’t for the life of me find this button. Can someone tell me exactly where it is located? Or maybe why I am not seeing it?
    any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

Topic: How do YOU use MemoryPress? / Steps to Use Site

In order to get started with our program you will purchase publishing credit first. You only need 1 order of $50 to get started. Then when your book is finished you will approve the final file and place your order for 12 copies at that time. The initial $50 will be deducted, and you will pay the remaining amount. If you have any trouble or questions please call or email Customer Service. 888-326-5327 info@memorypress.com

Topic: How do YOU use MemoryPress? / Steps to Use Site

    hello,

We are trying to order memorial books at the moment and are a little confused. We are trying to order 12 leather books. Do we purchase the credit for the website first and then customize the books? And if so, if we are buying 12 books, do we buy 2 of the credit packages? Any help would be appreciated on explaining how the steps work to purchasing these books.
    Thank you

Topic: Miscellaneous / How do you change an error?

If you are the editor of the book you can change an entry by simply clicking on it. If you are a guest contributor to a book, you will need to contact the editor. They can edit your entry for you.

There are a number of ways to have an entry on it’s own page. The easiest way would be to place a page break at the end of the entry prior to it. This would cause the next entry to move to the next page.

Topic: Miscellaneous / How do you change an error?

I have written an entry and typed in the wrong thing in one of the boxes and need to correct it. Is there anyway to proofread to make sure it is correct before you actually have it written in stone? And also to get it laid out so it is all on one page.
I found the web page to be user unfriendly, I hope there is a way to correct errors before it goes to print.

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Why can't I get in to my Book?

We were running some maintenance during Christmas because it’s typically a slow day. Have you tried it again since then? It should be working fine. If you still can’t sign in, you can try resetting your password. If the password isn’t the problem, give Customer Service a call, they would be glad to help you.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience. The week between Christmas and New Years is typically an extremely slow week for us. We took advantage of that to run some updates and maintenance. This would have been the cause of the error message you received. Everything should be working fine now. Be sure to clear you web browser’s cache, by holding down the control key and clicking the refresh button.

If you continue to get error messages please call Customer Service at 888-326-5327. They can look at your book and see what’s going on.

Topic: How do YOU use MemoryPress? / How do I change my book title?

To change the title of your book or journal, go to the Title page. Click on the page and it will open the text editor. Simply type in the new name. When you save, it will save the new title in your book list as well.
