Where did my photos go?

I have attempted to upload pictures from 2 drives on my laptop. It says that they were uploaded, but I can’t find them, let alone insert them anywhere. I am getting really scared, because if I, and editor can’t make this work, how will any of the other contributors? (That is if I can ever actually send them an email!)

I watched the tutorial, but it starts with a bunch of pictures on the right hand side. I have nothing there.
Am I missing something really obvious here?

Great Question Nancy. There are a few things to know about photos. When you first upload them, they don’t show up immediately in the photo pane. You need to click the ‘Return to Book’ button to return to your book and refresh your browser to allow the photos to display.

Other factors that would cause the photos to not appear would be if they are in a file format other than JPG or PNG. Also, jpgs that are in CMYK instead of RGB (for those that don’t know – those are color settings) will not show up either. We are working on updating this so that photo formats of all kinds will be able to be uploaded.
