Custom Pages overwriting text

I seem to be having another overwrite/clipping problem, this time with custom pages.

I wanted to insert a custom page between two normal full text pages, so I dragged the custom page over until the black bar appeared between the two pages.

After releasing the mouse button the custom page is inserted, and the thumbnails for the surrounding pages update properly. In other words they shift to the right one page.

But after going back to normal view the custom page is no longer inserted. Instead it is overwriting the text that was on that page.

From your description, I didn’t notice you mention that you clicked save before going back to the normal view. This is a step that I’ve seen some people forget.

I believe I did, but will test it again this evening.

However, if I didn’t, then it shouldn’t have put the custom page into my book right? I was able to drag photo’s on to the page.

After posting that response above I checked my book, and either the problem has been fixed or it was possibly a caching problem. The pages are now fine viewing the book from a different computer at work

Ok, for further testing, I added another custom page and then pressed Save.

Same thing as before: the thumbnails shifted down on the add custom page screen, but after pressing Save the new custom page clips the text on the page underneath.

I did ctrl-R to see if a full refresh would fix it and no go. Then I shut down Firefox, restarted, cleared cache, signed back in to memory press, and the text is still clipped. So, it’s not a cache problem.

(I’m on Firefox 2.0.0.6 both Windows and Linux)

You obviously know your way around computers. We really appreciate the thorough testing. We are always striving to make the best product possible.
Here is something to check. Could it be that the page was placed in the middle of a contribution? If you flip through the photo pages, does the text continue after them? Sometimes it is hard to determine where the chapter really ends. If this is the case, simply open ‘Manage Custom Pages’ and move the photo pages to the end of the chapter. If that’s not the issue either, then please contact Customer Service directly. We’d love to take a look at your book and solve the problem. You can email them at info@familylearn.com

I was trying to place the custom pages in the middle of a chapter, which must be the problem. I don’t have any contributions.

I’ll try moving the custom pages to the end of the chapter to see if that fixes the problem… although that’s not where I wanted them :)

I didn’t mean that you couldn’t place them in the middle. I simply meant to check if the text continued after the last photo page. You should be able to place photo pages in any position and the text should flow around them. If they are still not co-operating for you let me know. I’d be happy to look at it.
