I need \linebreak capability badly :)

I have chapter titles that are being hyphenated which is just terrible from a typography point of view. Needless to say, these chapter titles do not look good in the table of contents either. In one case the title extends all the way to the right margin and then the page number is on the left margin of the line below.

I could probably manage to make them look ok with a line break capability in the short term, but IMHO the better long-term solution would be to allow some control over the ‘styles’ of elements within the layout. This would let the ‘layouts’ be more artistic and general in nature.

This feature is already available. Click on your text to edit. In the line of icons, such as bold, italics, etc., you will see an icon that is 2 pages with a space in between. It is the fourth icon from the right. Put your cursor at the end of of your contribution, then click the Page Break button. This will force the next section to start at the top of the following page.

Hi LIz, page break is useful indeed! What I need is a line break though, or some way to turn off hyphenation in chapter/subchapter titles.

Sorry, I totally misunderstood. You don’t want the Chapter headings to break where they do. In this case, you would have to choose a shorter chapter heading. I could break the line for you, but then it would appear in two lines everywhere, ie the Table of Contents page, etc. Another option would be to change the book layout.
